Celebrating 5yrs of business, since its humble beginnings in December 2006, Simon Farley's vision for The Departure Lounge Cafe has created a vibrant and welcoming venue. The site also features the fuselage of a BA 111, where Captain Keith Godfrey gives his fear of flying classes, and from which The Departure Lounge takes its name. Situated near Alton on the Basingstoke Road, it offers a friendly atmosphere in which to relax or work.
On a daily basis there are a range of meals to choose from along with our all day breakfasts. Customers are able to sit outside and enjoy the view, or inside where the day's newspapers and free WiFi access are also available.
The Departure Lounge is a fully licensed venue, offering buffets, alcohol and live music, which can be hired for wedding receptions, birthdays and anniversaries. As Christmas approaches, the cafe is also offering a traditional 3 course menu, with all the trimmings, available for large groups of ten or more.
The Departure Lounge's sole proprietor, Simon Farley, along with Dale Holmes, also host the annual music festival 'Loungefest' on the site. The festival has played host to popular local bands such as 'The Standardz', 'Big Red Ass' and 'The Audio Guns', alongside European renowned tribute acts like 'Take Fat', 'The Killerz', 'Coldplace' and 'Hells Bells'. 'Loungefest' will no doubt continue to be a resounding success – regardless of the weather!
Opening everyday during the summer 9am-4pm, and during the winter 9am-4pm from Wednesday to Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday, The Departure Lounge Cafe is definitely a place to feel at home. So whether you're looking for a place to lunch, a venue for an event or just a coffee; The Departure Lounge Cafe offers the perfect environment!
